As part of the Invego x ART project, the free exhibition “Young Latvian Art” opens on 13 May in Telliskivi, in the gallery on the second floor of Invego’s headquarters. The exhibition features works by talented young Latvian artists, which will also be included in the “Buy Young Art” auction project, taking place in Latvia for the first time this spring.
“Buy Young Art” has been active in Estonia for nearly 10 years, presenting an exciting selection of works by young artists to the public every spring and autumn. The project’s mission is to discover talented young artists and bring them to the attention of art enthusiasts. Many young Estonian artists have received their first major stepping stone towards recognition through this auction.
This spring, however, the project is taking an important next step — in cooperation with Invego, “Buy Young Art” is expanding to Latvia for the first time. As part of Riga Art Week, an exhibition of works by young Latvian artists will take place in Riga, and on 3 June, the first Latvian young art auction will be held at Kimmel Kvartals.
“We are excited to bring a project that has been so well received in Estonia to Latvia for the first time together with Invego. Our mission has always been the same: to help talented young artists find their way into real homes, onto real walls — and now also to our dear southern neighbours,” says Reigo Kuivjõgi, the initiator of “Buy Young Art”.
Invego has also brought a selection of young Latvian artists to Estonia, giving local art enthusiasts the opportunity to get to know their work before the auction.
“Our mission is to bring great art into more people’s homes — both in Estonia and Latvia. It is a great joy to see young Latvian artists being introduced to the Estonian audience for the first time,” says Kristjan-Thor Vähi, founder and CEO of Invego.
