seniors<\/a>, with special solutions that make a new home more accessible, more comfortable and safer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nAccording to Kristjan-Thor V\u00e4hi, head of Invego, people of a more mature age have somewhat different expectations and needs for their homes than, for example, families with children, but until now such options have rarely been offered when buying a new home. “Once the children have left home, a spacious house or a large family apartment can easily become burdensome in several respects, and increasingly often a smaller and more convenient home is chosen instead. The number of older home buyers is growing, and people want to enjoy the quality of life that a brand-new modern home offers,” V\u00e4hi says, emphasising that the special solutions of the senior package make everyday life easier already today, while also making the new home future-proof, so that it remains a good place to live even as needs change over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the senior package, a new home can be fitted with, for example, sockets placed higher up, night-time spot lighting that switches on automatically, handrails in the hallways, levelled thresholds and a master switch that controls all lights at once. For the kitchen, a higher-placed oven and dishwasher can be chosen, and for the bathroom a more slip-resistant floor, a spacious shower area and other convenience solutions. In addition, solutions can be agreed separately for people with mobility or other special needs, for example adapting the home for moving around in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the head of Invego, it is important that comfort and safety are supported not only by the home itself, but by the entire surrounding living environment. “A home is chosen for years, and alongside the apartment layout it is always worth looking at how convenient it is to enter and leave, to move around and to organise everyday life. These are all small details whose importance a person feels more and more with each day in a new home,” V\u00e4hi says, noting that all apartment buildings developed by Invego have lifts and convenient storage rooms, while the buildings are surrounded by car-free recreation areas and lit pathways. He adds that in creating the senior package, the needs of people of different ages and lifestyles were thoroughly mapped, and several partners were involved to achieve a better result. For example, Invego’s partner Medi offers an emergency button service to those who want it, allowing help to be called at the press of a button in the event of a health problem or another unexpected issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“A new home, even when it is smaller than the previous one, should broaden a person’s life, not limit it. The point of the senior package is to make everyday life simpler and to leave more time for enjoying life.
