After strong public interest earlier this year, Estonian developers Invego and Reterra relaunched today their social initiative “Latvia Needs More Children,” once again offering up to €25,000 in home purchase support for families with children.
The first campaign, held at the beginning of 2025, drew remarkable attention with 18 families saving €185,000 when purchasing a new home. “Since last spring, many families have asked whether this opportunity would return — so we’re happy to say that it does,” Kristjan-Thor Vähi, CEO of Invego reaffirms the commitment to socially responsible development and long-term contribution to Latvian society. “The issue with the low birth rate hasn’t disappeared, and we wish to make our small contribution toward addressing this challenge. Our goal remains the same: to make it easier for families with children to own a high-quality home. By supporting families, we’re investing in Latvia’s future — and our own.”
The “Latvia Needs More Children” campaign offers €5,000 in financial support per child, up to a maximum of €25,000 per household. The support applies to homes in several Invego and Reterra developments — “Vītolu Parks,” “Miera Rezidences,” “Skanstes Rezidences,” and “Parka Kvartāls” in Riga, as well as “Vide Ādaži” and “Mārupes Sirds” near the capital. The campaign is open to all families purchasing a home in these projects during the campaign period from October 10 to November 30. The offer applies to both completed and under-construction homes that are listed for sale.
According to Reigo Randmets, CEO of Reterra, the idea behind the initiative was rooted in demographic trends showing that Latvia’s birth rate continues to decline. “Although the overall numbers are concerning, there are also positive signs,” he notes. “Data from the Central Statistical Bureau shows that the share of families having a third or fourth child has increased over the past decade. Bigger families naturally need bigger homes — and this campaign helps them get one. We want to ensure that every family has access to sustainable, modern, and comfortable housing.”
“Latvia’s population challenge affects everyone — and we believe that businesses should also play a part in finding solutions,” comments Kristjan-Thor Vähi. “Our developments are designed for real families, with green courtyards, playgrounds, and layouts that support everyday life. Helping families settle in these homes is one way we can make a tangible difference.”
