In 2025, a total of 38 families with children purchasing new homes benefited from the “Latvia Needs More Children” offer, receiving 385,000 euros in support provided by real estate developers Invego and Reterra.
Kristjan-Thor Vähi, CEO of Invego, explained that the initiative was launched in response to Latvia’s demographic challenges, where low birth rates and negative natural population growth have raised concerns about the country’s future.
“Latvia needs more children, and we want young families to feel more confident and courageous in making important life decisions,” he commented.
Reigo Randmets, CEO of Reterra, emphasized that the campaign has been warmly welcomed in Latvia. “We received heartfelt messages from parents saying this support enabled them to make one of the most important decisions in life — purchasing a new home for their family. That is precisely the impact we aimed for, and it inspires us to keep going,” he noted.
According to Kristjan-Thor Vähi, it is natural for successful companies to contribute to society through meaningful initiatives. “This is our investment in combating population decline and aging, while also supporting Latvia’s development. By helping families with children, we enable them to realize their dreams,” he emphasized, adding that similar campaigns can be expected in the future.
The campaign, titled “Latvia Needs More Children,” offered home purchase discounts of up to EUR 25,000, depending on the number of children in the household. The offer applied to homes in the projects “Parka Kvartāls”, “Skanstes Rezidences”, “Miera Rezidences”, “Vītolu Parks”, “Vide Ādaži” and “Mārupes Sirds”. The campaign was carried out in two phases: during October and November of 2025, around 20 families received average savings of EUR 10,000 each, totaling EUR 200,000, while in the beginning of the 2025 18 families benefited from support amounting to EUR 185,000.
